...or, how to get round lack a wrapping paper for grandchildren's birthday presents in lockdown!

There was more than a sense of panic a couple of days ago when I realised that two important (5 and 10) birthdays were coming up and although I had bought the presents, I did not have enough of the right size or gender or age appropriate wrapping paper.

So I got creative, rootled about in an old box of stuff I don't really use anymore, found some bright paints (not hard for me) and commandeered the HUGE roll of brown parcel paper, left over from my days as gallery owner!

I unrolled the length I thought I would need and started to randomly stamp shapes down - some of which had come free with magazines, some I had cut or designed myself years ago! (Always knew they'd come in useful one day)!

Added in a couple of lengths of Baker's twine and garden string, a blob of sealing wax - and there you go! Totally recyclable, gender neutral, guilt free wrapping paper !

I'll take commissions if you're interested! Give me a call

Getting up to date!
by SARA SYLVESTER 17 April 2021
Now that the first part of lockdown has lifted, I've been safely able to re-open my home studio/gallery! The signs are out and the sanitiser sprays are at the ready! I've collected the latest superbly framed paintings from Martin at IN THE FRAME in Kirkby Stephen - he does really great work! I have two alcohol inks, double mounted and framed in white; and three float mounted landscapes, two in oils and one teensy weensy acrylic! All looking fab and searching for their new forever homes! This one below is acrylic on ply, 43x13cm THE LIMESTONE PATH (£60.00)
